FSSAI State Licence — Apply Online (FoSCoS)
The FSSAI State Licence is for medium food businesses with annual turnover between ₹1.5 crore and ₹50 crore — mid-size restaurants, cloud kitchens, manufacturers, traders and distributors that have grown past the ₹1.5 crore Basic Registration threshold. Many smaller restaurants and kitchens under ₹1.5 crore actually need only a Basic Registration; the State Licence applies once you cross ₹1.5 crore. It is administered by your State Food Safety Department, and CAREALL files it correctly for you.

Frequently asked questions
Who needs an FSSAI State Licence?
Food businesses with annual turnover between ₹1.5 crore and ₹50 crore operating within one state need a State Licence — typically mid-size restaurants, cloud kitchens and manufacturers that have grown past ₹1.5 crore. Below ₹1.5 crore you need only a Basic Registration (so many smaller restaurants and kitchens are Basic, not State); above ₹50 crore or multi-state, a Central Licence.
What is the difference between State and Central FSSAI licence?
The State Licence covers businesses within a single state up to ₹50 crore turnover and is administered by the State Food Safety Department. The Central Licence is for large businesses above ₹50 crore, importers/exporters, and operators across multiple states, administered by FSSAI headquarters.
How long is an FSSAI State Licence valid?
An FSSAI licence now stays valid indefinitely — there is no fixed term and no renewal application. Instead you pay a recurring annual fee to keep it active; if the annual fee is left unpaid the licence is deemed suspended until you clear it. CAREALL keeps your annual fee paid so the licence never lapses.
